I hate picking up old blogs for the same reasons I hate seeing people I went to high school with and no longer talk to. There's too much to cover that happened in the time between to even try, but to not talk about it at all seems fragmented and mysterious, like something horrible happened that no one wants to talk about. I'll quickly bring this blog up to date.Studio 2A was horrible from start to finish. I don't even want to talk about it. Theory was a great class, everything else was barely interesting. That's about it.
My birthday was about a month ago. I spent it exactly how I wanted, with most of my friends from back home and a couple glasses of wine over the night. Chelsea turned 18 about a week later and we went to hookah.
Cody and I celebrated the anniversary of our engagement this last weekend. Four months to go and I'm so excited. We're starting to look at places to live. We want to move into a house right away since the market is low, but we're not sure we want to be so permanent right away. We're looking at living near the 5 in North County because the weather is always wonderful and it's easy to get to my school and where Cody will be working and going to school. Cody is in, what I hope, is his last semester at Biola before transferring somewhere else. There is no reason for a school to force its students through so much red tape.
This semester is going so much better than last. I love my studio professor, Tim Durfee. He's very intelligent and kind and the fact that he tells students they're doing well instead of always giving negative criticisms encourages us to work harder. Novel. Aesthetics is one of the best classes I've taken here. The professor is Italian which makes any class that much better. Structures 2 is kicking my ass, but it's the last class of it's kind, so that's encouraging. Pro-Practice is very tedious and uninteresting and it's all done in group projects. Group projects are usually a horrible idea. I hate working in groups because no one seems to do things how I think are right, which may or may not be right, but if all of the work is done by a single person, it will at least be seamless.
That brings most things up to speed. New post soon.
